HYPATIA – HISTORY & DESCRIPTION: HYPATIA was built by W Watkins & Co. Blackwall, London to Lloyds 100A1 for P Burnham Esq of Overstrand Mansions, London and first launched in 1896. The design by William Watkins featured a centre-board, very unusual for Victorian yachts of the period, but reflected the first owners wish for a more modest draught for sailing in the shoal waters of the Thames Estuary. Preliminary Particulars of Sale: LINDOWAN – History & Construction: During the early 1960s Aberdour Marine Services Ltd. produced a small series of motor-sailers in the MFV style similar to the Miller Fifer 33 to a design by G Finlayson. SUNA – HISTORY & DESCRIPTION 30sqm “Seefahrtkreuzer” yacht built in 1936 by Abeking and Rasmussen, Bremen by commission from the German state. Used 1936-1939 on the Baltic for matched class racing under the ‘Square Metre Rule” from the Keil Canal yacht harbour. Originally there were around 30 of this size, 20 at 50sqm and 12 100sqm.
